Reef Explosion is a gown of silk dupion which I have hand dyed in a umbrae effect with purple at the hem to a aqua and pale aqua at the top. I have 3D three colours and four shades of wool to create the 3D coral, and then I have sequins trailing from the hemline to give the effect of water glistening up from the ocean floor. I put cast net around the hem line to create the sandy ocean bottom. Then I added shells and pearls to the cast net. Then to finish the gown I added ostrich feathers to create feather coral which floats in the water. The gown is finished with a 3D coral feathers and sequins at the shoulder and also complemented with a matching fascinator.
